Welcome to the website of the Council of Oriental Orthodox Churches.
The Council draws together elected representatives, both clergy and laity, from the Oriental Orthodox Churches which have communities in the British Isles. The Council meets regularly, and its meetings are hosted by a wide variety of the member Churches.
The aim of the Council is to help the various Oriental Orthodox communities support each other, and produce a common response to many of the issues which face us in the UK. The Council has also organised an annual Pan-Orthodox liturgy, which has been held in a variety of locations and which draws together clergy and laity in a common celebration of our Orthodox faith.
It is hoped that this website will develop into a useful resource about our Oriental Orthodox tradition, and while making a beginning with relatively brief information about the Council and the member Churches, we will be adding more detailed directory information about each of the Oriental Orthodox congregations in due course.
